 STIR FRIED SZECHWAN PRAWNS

 

Ingredients:

  • Prawns - 1kg (cleaned, deveined)
  • Tomato sauce - 5 tbsp
  • Spring Onions - 5 tbsp (chopped)
  • Garlic - 3 tbsp (chopped)
  •  Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Ginger - 3 tsp (chopped)
  • Dry Red Chillies - 6nos. (broken)
  • Vinegar - 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli sauce - 2 tbsp
  • Soya Sauce -3 tbsp
  • Honey - 1 tbsp
  • A pinch of Ajinomoto   (optional)
  • Cornstarch - 3 tbsp
  • Salt and Black Pepper to taste

Recipe Direction:

  • In a Microwave safe bowl, add oil and all ingredients except cornflower and prawns and microwave covered at 100% power for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Add prawns and one cup of water to the above and mix well. Microwave covered at 100% power for 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in between.
  • Now add cornstarch (in 1/2 cup water). Mix well and microwaves uncovered for 5 minutes at 60% power till the gravy thickens. Standing time of 5 minutes to be given.
  • Serve hot with steamed rice.
