 STEAMED FISH ROLLS


Ingredients:

  • Pomfret Fish  - 1kg

For Marinade:

  • Fresh lemon juice - 2 tbsp 
  • Turmeric powder - 3 tsp
  • Soy sauce - 2 tsp
  • Salt and pepper

For Filling:

  • Olive Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Mango chutney (or) Mango pickle - 5 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 tbsp

For Wrapping:

  • Banana leaves - 2

 

Method:

Cut the fish long fillets. Apply salt, lemon juice soy sauce, turmeric powder and pepper on them and keep aside.

Chop the remaining boneless fish into small cubes. 

In a pan add oil and put curry leaves, salt, pepper and boneless fish cubes and cook for 5 to 10 minutes. Stir in between. Add mango chutney or pickle and mix gently and cook for 2 to 5 minutes.

Spread this mixture uniformly over the fish fillets and roll each into a cylindrical shape. Make 5 to 10 rolls and wrap each in a banana leaf.

In a microwave safe dish , microwave covered at 100% for 5 to 10 minutes. Standing time of 5 minutes to be given.

When it cools, remove banana leaves and slice the fish rolls into neat slices. Serve hot with salsa or chutney.
