 GOAN FISH CURRY

Ingredients:

  • Fish Steaks -  500gm (mackeral or any other firm fish)
  • Coconut Milk - 2 cups
  • Onion - 2 (sliced)
  • Tomato -2 (chopped)
  • Fresh Green Chilli - 3 to 4 (chopped)
  • Oil - 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Garlic - 4 flakes (crushed)
  • Ginger - 1 tbsp (sliced)
  • Garam Masala - 3tsp
  • Capsicums - 1 (thickly sliced) (optional)
  • Potatoes - 1 (thinly sliced) (optional)
  • Vinegar of Fresh Lime Juice - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1to 2 tsp 
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Recipe Direction:

  • Apply salt and vinegar or lime juice to fish steaks and keep aside to marinate for 1 hour.
  • In a microwave safe bowl, add oil , onion, tomatoes, green chillies, capsicum, potatoes and microwave at 100% power for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Add 1/4 cup water, cook for 5 minutes. Add coconut milk, dry masala, fish and season to taste covered and microwave for 6 to 7 minutes till fish is tender.Let it stand for 5 minutes
  • Serve hot with plain boiled rice or ghee rice.
