 PRAWN MALAI GRAVY


Ingredients:

  • Prawns - 500 gm ( shelled,deveined, salted and washed prawns)
  • Lemon juice - 1/2 tbsp 
  • Olive oil / Ghee - 1 tbsp 
  • Thick Coconut milk - 1&1/2 cup  
  • Salt to taste

For Seasoning:

  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp 
  • Curry leaves - 1 tbsp

Ground to a Paste:

  • Onion -1
  • Tomato - 1
  • Ginger - 1 (inch piece)
  • Garlic - 5  flakes
  • Cloves - 2
  • Green chillies - 3
  • Turmeric powder - 3 tsp
  • Red Chilli powder - 2 tsp 

Method: 

Apply turmeric powder, lemon juice and salt to the prawns. Keep for 30 minutes and then wash well.

In a  large pan pour ghee add mustard seeds and curry leaves  fry for 2 minutes. 

Add grounded masala paste and 1/4 cup of water . mix well and cook for 5 to 10 minutes.

When gravy becomes thicker now add the thick coconut milk. Add prawns and cook for 5 minutes in a low flame.

Serve hot with boiled rice or chapathi.
